Sue Hutchins, Devon. Level Three England Hockey Coach

The Academy International Tour is a great opportunity to improve as a coach while travelling around the USA. The host families you stay with each week are amazing.

Gemma Brown Welsh International Hockey Player. Level Three England Hockey Coach

"I have worked for Academy International now for six summers and each year I face new and exciting challenges. I have met so many players, families and made some life long friends."

Liam King, Assistant Coach Scotland under 16 Boys National Team. Level Two Coach

“My tour with Academy International was one of the best experiences of my life. Absolutely loved it from day one. Staying with real families was amazing and I gained a real appreciation of life in America. I got to see so many places I have always dreamed of seeing and also saw plenty of very interesting places I didn't even know existed. As a coach I learned a great deal off of my colleagues but also from my own trial and error as the experience was totally different to coaching in the UK. I would recommend to anyone looking for an enjoyable, and rewarding summer, especially if they love to travel!”

Emily Dent, Leeds Hockey Club 1XI Captain, Former Edinburgh University Coach
England Junior Regional Performance Center Coach. Level Two Coach

“Working for Academy International has been the highlight of my summer for the past three years! I have enhanced my coaching ability through this experience and been given the opportunity to work with a range of varsity coaches across the East Coast of America. One of the most amazing aspects about working for Academy International is that you are hosted by a different family every week. It's almost three years since i started working for Academy International, yet I am still in close contact with many of the families i met almost three years ago, in 2013! As both a coaching opportunity and a life experience, i would recommend Academy International to anyone who has a passion for hockey and working with young people.”

Chris Golding, Leeds, England. Level Two Certified Coach

Having played and coached at a very high standard in both England and Australia as a Level 2 qualified coach, the opportunity to work in America was fantastic. Academy International were well run, organised and friendly, and each and every camp was brilliant to be a part of. The kids were friendly, enthusiastic and keen to learn on the pitch as well as engage and learn about us as coaches and everyday people off of it. Each host family treated us like royalty and I have made some lifelong friends through my time in America. From a coaching perspective the chance to learn from other coaches and test ourselves with a variety of standards of players was brilliant, whilst from a personal view point the ability to experience another country's culture first hand was amazing. I could not recommend it enough to anyone interested - I would go back in a heartbeat!

Ricardo Davenport, U/18 Girls Club Coach, Benalmadena, Spain

My experience was absolutely awesome. I would have never imagined that I was going to enjoy this tour so much. Travelling around the country and staying with host families was really good. The tour was incredible and you get to coach some great kids.
